The First One
This painting was the very first successful portrait that was actually completed.
Fear was the biggest factor before even starting. I was terrified to even get started. After hours of doubt, I reached out to a close friend who somehow convinced me that I was king of kings, master of my own destiny which actually gave me the courage to get started. While into the process doubt and confusion begin to creep back into this picture, not knowing which steps to take next I was forced to put the brush down and take a step back. A few days go by of just staring at the canvas, no painting. I now see the next step which was simply just touch up what was already done. As I begin to get in the flow of touching up previous work from 3 to 4 days before, I found myself gradually moving forward everything else came natural. if you click on the image you will see a short video into the process.
